Torrance Childs

Torrance Childs is a senior financial services executive with 24 years of experience in the banking sector. Currently he is a Senior Vice President and Director of Sales for The Boston Private Bank & Trust Company, where he focuses on clients engaged in the wealth creation process and businesses who seek customized solutions. Prior to that Childs was a Regional Executive of the Community Banking Division for Bank of America. In that capacity Childs led and grew a division that included 158 banking centers and small business lending teams in New England, New York, and New Jersey, with $6 billion in assets and a staff of over 1,400. Childs was on the Bank’s Management Operating Committee, helping to shape national strategy. Prior to Bank of America, Childs was the President of Fleet Community Bank where he was responsible for 117 urban branch locations in New England and New York as well as holding executive positions with BankBoston, Bank of New England, and Bay Bank.

Mr. Childs is Chair of the Boston Main Streets Foundation, Member of the Boston Private Bank and Trust Donations Committee, Former Co-Chairman of Freedom House’s Champion of Freedom Event, a member of the Boston Urban Bankers Forum and the Partnership, and a former member of Bank of America’s Massachusetts Foundation Committee. He has received numerous honors including the Madison Park Development Corporation Community Catalyst Award, Bank of America’s Crystal Spirit Award for Leadership and Performance, and the North Hudson Ann T. Dudzak award for Community Service in New Jersey. He is a frequent guest speaker including appearances at Harvard, Boston, and Northeastern Universities. Childs has an MBA from Northeastern University and a BS in Psychology from Boston University.
